Lot 4576: Rhode Island-Sotzmann (Daniel Friedrich) Rhode Island, double-page engraved map, 480 by 360mm., Hamburg, 1797, One of the earliest large-scale maps of the State of Rhode Island. Sotzmann's Atlas von Nordamerika, which contains ten maps of individual American states is ''amongst the rarest of cartographic Americana for the closing decade of the eighteenth century'' (Ristow).
