In accordance with the Collections Management Policy of the Germantown Historical Society, objects that no longer fulfill the educational mission of the Society have been de-accessioned and authorized for sale. The de-accessioning process has been undertaken in an effort to refine the collections while establishing a focus on objects that have a documented association with the history of the German Township. Funds obtained from the sale of de-accessioned objects will be exclusively used for conservation, improvement of climate control in display areas, the creation of new storage facilities, and the acquisition of objects that more clearly represent the Society's educational mission and goals
